SEOUL -- Daebo Group, a medium-sized conglomerate in South Korea, will host a free charity concert at a golf course in the northern city of Paju. Various K-pop artists such as BTS and singer-actress IU participated in the annual donation event where fairways were recreated into a concert hall and a playground.

Daebo said in a statement that the 19th Seowon Valley Charity Green Concert would begin on June 3. The company said the event, which first started in 2000, is designed to return corporate profits to society and help those in need. Visitors can enjoy their time on lawn and take part in donation activities. As of 2022, the cumulative number of visitors reached 490,000 with raised charity funds of 600 million won ($455,511).

Girl bands such as EXID and Girls' Day also showcased their talents at the event. This year's artists will be disclosed in May. To attract both domestic and foreign visitors, the golf club's fairway has been used as a parking lot since 2008.

The music festival, which was suspended for two consecutive years because of the COVID-19 pandemic, resumed in May 2022. Two Super Junior members -- Shindong and Leeteuk -- and veteran singer Im Chang-jeong interacted with fans. "The charity event, which took place every May, will be held in June this year because of the concert set to happen in May in support of Busan's bid for the 2030 World Expo," Daebo's spokesperson told Aju Business Daily.

Daebo with about 4,000 employees as of 2022 carries out many different businesses including construction, IT, and leisure events. Founded in June 1981, the group's sales reached 1.7 trillion won in 2021.
