Using software robots, Lunit's AI solution compares and analyzes X-rays and medical images of chest disease patients and healthy people. After detecting an irregularity, the solution notifies human supervisors of the situation so that patients can take extra tests. The solution was adopted by Cathay Life Insurance, a major life insurance company in Taiwan, and Brazil's Albert Einstein Israelite Hospital after verifying that the analysis software can detect lung cancer and unusual lesions with an accuracy rate of more than 95 percent.
Lunit said in a statement that the company signed an agreement with Radlink, the imaging center affiliated with Singapore's healthcare service group Fullerton Health to supply Lunit INSIGHT CXR for three years. Radlink is a diagnosis center specializing in X-rays, mammography, and computerized tomography (CT). The South Korean company aims to also provide Lunit INSIGHT MMG, a solution specializing in detecting breast cancer, to Radlink.
According to data released by market research firm Markets and Markets, the global diagnostic imaging market, which stood at $26.6 billion in 2021, is projected to reach $35 billion in 2026. Targeting the global market, Lunit has worked with many foreign companies and hospitals in Southeast Asia. In July 2022, the company signed an agreement with Bumrungrad International Hospital, a major hospital in Bangkok, to deploy Lunit INSIGHT CXR.
