McDonald's Korea to collaborate with girl band NewJeans for promotion of new menu

SEOUL -- The South Korean office of McDonald's will collaborate with NewJeans, a girl group formed by ADOR, a subsidiary label of the agency of K-pop superstar BTS, to promote its new menu. The five-member band has captivated global fans through dance songs such as Attention, Ditto, and OMG.
 
McDonald's Korea said in its Instagram post: "Curious about a crispy burger which NewJeans is looking for? 3/2 Coming Soon!" A photo of the girl band was also posted on the company's Instagram on February 27.
 
Global fans are excited about the collaboration and hope the new burger will be released worldwide. "Bring it to the US!! I'm waiting for ittt," said divinelymillsm an Instagram user. "Please make it worldwide please," another user hdyhkhir said.
 
As of February 13, the group's dance songs -- OMG and Ditto -- were the most consumed songs in the United States on Spotify, the world's most popular music streaming service. The girl band's debut song Attention entered Billboard's global chart just nine days after its release and the weekly top song USA chart on Spotify, less than 50 days after the band's debut.
 
NewJeans is known for its unique dance performances and outstanding singing skills in various genres such as R&B, electropop, and hip hop. Group members are aged between 14 and 18. The 18-year-old member named Hanni is an Australian of Vietnamese descent. Danielle, a 17-year-old member with dual nationality -- South Korean and Australian -- was born to an Australian father and a South Korean mother.
