SEOUL -- Northland Power, a power producer in Canada, teamed up with LS Cable & System to cooperate in offshore wind farm projects. The South Korean company has expanded production facilities to respond more effectively to the rapidly growing offshore wind power market.

The two companies decided to cooperate for EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) projects related to offshore wind power generation. Northland, which develops, builds, owns and operates clean and green power infrastructure assets, has been involved in wind farm projects in the North Sea and Asia.

LS Cable has secured a deal to supply submarine cables for the Hai Long offshore wind farm project in the Taiwan Strait. "With this agreement, we will meet the government's new and renewable energy policy and contribute to the development of the local economy," CEO Myung Roe-hyun said in a statement on November 3.
