SEOUL -- The largest model of Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S21 family was equipped with a new low-power organic light-emitting diode display to improve the efficiency of light emitting and smartphone usage time in the 5G era that requires big screens, high-speed driving, and high resolution.

Samsung Display said the new OLED panel can lower consumption power by more than 16 percent by applying new organic materials that improved the speed of electronic movement faster and easier in the organic layer. It was first applied to the largest model of Samsung's Galaxy S21 family, which comes with three models -- the 6.2-inch S21, the 6.7-inch S21+ and the 6.8-inch S21 Ultra.

Samsung Display said the new OLED panel could produce brighter lights with less energy than before.

"As display technologies such as big screen, high-speed driving, and high resolution continue to develop every year, there is also a growing demand for low-consumption power technologies that will effectively implement this," Baek Jee-ho, head of Samsung Display's strategic marketing division for small and medium displays, said in a statement on January 26.,
