SEOUL -- An artificial intelligence kid was found to have used slangs and disdainful words indiscriminately when it watched any video in a video exposure test conducted by LG Uplus (LGU+), a mobile carrier in South Korea, to analyze the impact of content on children's language habits.

LGU+ said it has conducted an eight-week video exposure test on 5-year-old AI children in a joint project with Saltlux, a machine learning and natural language processing startup, by communicating with AI voice synthesis technology.

The experiment showed that an AI kid who indiscriminately encountered the content of a general video platform has used vocabulary and slangs that disdain other people, while another AI child who watched a descent media platform for children, has used creative and correct languages suitable for children.

"We produced a campaign video to emphasize the impact of content on children's right language habits through AI tests," said Kim Hee-jin, who heads LG U+'s brand communications team. The test backed the opinion of experts that children should see useful content suitable for their age.
