SEOUL -- Prinker S, a new portable device developed by a South Korean startup to print temporary tattoos quickly onto human skin will be introduced at CES 2020, an annual trade show to be held in Las Vegas. It enhances user convenience and portability by lowering weight and price.

Prinker S has reduced its weight to 340 grams from 483 grams and its price was lowered from $349 to $269. Developers said that a special cosmetic ink using FDA-approved ingredients has completed the evaluation of cosmetics certification, including the analysis of harmful substances.

"Prinker S to be introduced at CES 2020 is a product that improved commerciality and enhanced functions through continuous research and development," said Prinker Korea director Yun Tae-sik.

Prinker is the world’s first skin printer that can print directly on the skin. Users can choose between downloading a pre-designed image that is sent to the proprietary printer. Tattoos last for up to three days and can be easily removed with soap. Each cartridge contains enough ink for about 1,000 tattoos.

Initially, Prinker was unveiled for business use such as festivals, carnivals, sports events, promotion campaigns, but the company has developed a portable version for individual users.
