SEOUL -- LG Electronics has decided to postpone the release of "LG SIGNATURE OLED R", the world's first rollable organic light-emitting diode TV that was previously scheduled to be released this year.

The South Korean electronics maker told reporters on Tuesday that the release of the company's 65-inch rollable organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV was postponed until next year and it is unlikely to be released during the first half of 2020.

LG said that because LG SIGNATURE OLED R is something that is totally new, the company is approaching the marketing, sales and production from different angles. The South Korean tech giant said it could showcase its rollable TV at next year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) but nothing has been decided yet.

LG SIGNATURE OLED R was first unveiled at this year's CES in January. The TV has an OLED screen that can appear and disappear from a base unit at the touch of a remote control button. The rollable TV received positive feedback from critics.
