SEOUL -- Cosmax, a cosmetics original development manufacturing company in South Korea, has developed an anti-aging cosmetics material called "Strain CX" using microbiome, the genetic material of all the microbes that live on and inside the human body. Strain CX is a composite of microbes with anti-aging characteristics found in the skin of young women.

In the cosmetics industry, microbiome specifically refers to a group of microbes which are known to improve the conditions of internal organs and skin. Microbiome has received attention as a material for next-generation skincare cosmetics, but most cosmetics products that utilize microbiome research technology have used intestinal lactobacillus or milk lactobacillus.

Cosmax promised to release a new lineup of cosmetics that would enhance the anti-aging capability of products targeting fall and winter seasonal markets.

"While all other companies were focusing on the balance of microbiome and the relationship between aging and microbes, we thought that we should approach the skin," Cosmax organic materials lab head Lee dong-geol said. "Our research performance is based on finding out exactly what our customers want after meeting with them several times."

"Because skin microbiological research is much higher in the level of research analysis than intestinal microbial research, I have spent the last five years just making a platform for analysis," Lee said, adding his team found the correlation between anti-aging microbes and skin aging and divided them.

Strain CX can greatly enhance moisture activity and collagen activation, he said. Cosmax promised to release a new lineup of cosmetics that would enhance the anti-aging capability of products targeting fall and winter seasonal markets.

Strain CX was first adopted by Dr. Jart+, a cosmetics brand, to release a moisturizing essence. The product has become the top-selling merchandise at Olive Young, a health and beauty drug store, this summer. Dr. Jart+ will release a new lineup of cosmetics featuring a more concentrated dose of Strain CX.

"While the moisture biome concentrates on the moisturization capability of cosmetics, a new lineup featuring the concentrated dose of the anti-aging element, which is the core of the Strain CX, will be released as autumn and winter come," Lee said.
