SEOUL -- Small AI speakers in the shape of the characters of Minions, a 2015 American 3D computer-animated comedy film, will be released this week in South Korea. The AI speaker was developed by South Korea's top web service company Naver.
Naver said Tuesday that its AI speaker called "Friends Mini Minions" weighs 268 grams and is useful for outdoor activities because playback is possible for up to six hours.
The Minion-themed AI speaker will hit shelves on Thursday. Minions, which went into general release in the United States in 2015, has grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing non-Disney animated film.
