Many people are addicted to Instagram and Snapchat nowadays. They are obsessed with how they portray themselves on their social media. Some even create a new persona online to escape their realities and get the sensation for a brief moment when they get many likes. Others simply crave approvals of their identity.
Now there is a health blogger on Instagram that defies these underlying rules of social media. Sara Puhto, a 20-year-old health blogger in Finnish, came into the social scene like a breath of fresh air. She not only posts her vegan recipes but also posts brutally honest photos of her body.
She promotes the body-positive movement and encourages fellow women that no one is perfect and it is okay to love your body as it is. She tells her followers they are beautiful as they are.
She often posts side-by-side real life and Instagram photos to show that people should not believe everything they see online. There are angles and optical illusions many popular Instagram bloggers use to create the most perfect photos and images. With her photos, she wants to free her followers to start loving themselves as she was freed from her struggle.
She had a scoliosis surgery when she was 13 years old and it limited her range of movements. She still cannot do sit ups or other ab workouts because of the titanium bolts in her spine, however, she beat depression, scars, and her negative body image issue with BBG workouts.
With her photos, she explains clothing sizes or lighter weight do not define beauty or who they really are inside. With her inspiring posts, Puhto has garnered over 156,000 followers on Instagram and counting.
