Samsung Electronics introduced a high-end refrigerator called "Chef Collection Porcelain" with a unique hand-crafted porcelain interior.

The latest product added to Samsung's premium kitchen appliances lineup "Chef Collection" has a unique interior design with its components made of porcelain. The ceramic material developed in China 2,000 years ago is now used in many food-related industries because of its ability to maintain the freshness of contents for a long time.

The Chef Collection Porcelain carries a price tag of 14.9 million won (13,270 US dollars) and supports control via a smartphone app. Users can command and control it by talking.

The porcelain interior is superb at maintaining a low temperature. Compared to conventional refrigerators, the rate of temperature increased when the doors are open are reduced by 83 percent and it also takes 76 percent less time to lower the temperature to the desired setting.

Samsung said the porcelain was proven safe by the NSF, a US product testing, inspection and certification organization.
