Lay, a Chinese member of South Korea's popular boy group Exo, lost consciousness Tuesday before boarding a plane that would have taken him to Japan for concerts, his management agency said.

The 25-year old was waiting at Incheon International Airport while preparing to fly to Japan's northernmost island of Hokkaido. He suddenly fell unconscious and was rushed to a hospital, SM Entertainment said, adding it was due to fatigue and a lack of sleep.

Doctors said everything would be fine if the singer gets plenty of time for rest, the agency said. Other members have flown to Hokkaido.

"Lay showed his strong will to perform at the concert. We will check his condition later to decide on whether he can join the concert," an SM official said.
