More than a half of South Koreans said President-elect Park Geun-hye is doing well, according to a Gallup Korea poll released on Feb. 4.

The survey of 1,511 people aged 19 or above, conducted between Jan. 28 and Feb. 1, said 52 percent of respondents replied that Park is doing a good job, down four percentage points from a week earlier.

Twenty-one percent of respondents, on the other hand, said Park is not faring well, an increase of two percentage points from the previous week, the poll said.

Seventeen percent of interviewees, who positively responded to what Park has done since her election on Dec. 19 last year, cited that Park keeps her campaign pledges, while 12 percent said Park is not swayed by public opinion. Another 12 percent said she is trustworthy.

Forty-two percent of pollees, who negatively responded to Park's performance, complained that she nominated those allegedly involved in irregularities for key posts, whereas 14 percent said there was a lack of communication between Park and the public.

Park is set to be sworn in as the country's first female president on Feb. 25.
