A TV show “ Survival- I am a Singer”, is one of the most watched and popular tv show in South Korea because the actual popular and legendary singers of Korea compete and the viewers get to directly vote on their favorite performance every week.

Yeosu Expo will host a special “Survival - I am a Singer” concert by popular South Korean singers as part of the GS Caltex Corp. event, organizers said Saturday.

The event, set for the next day on the exposition‘s main “Big O,” stage will feature appearances by In Soon-i, Shin Hyo-bum, Park Wan-kyu, Cho Kyu-chan, Kim Jo-han and Red Rain, who all competed on the popular televised singing show.

Organizers said that judging by the number of people who showed up for a “Big-Five” concert hosted by Hyundai Motor Group on May 25, the GS Caltex event should draw large crowds.

The “Big-Five” concert drew more than 10,000 people to see popular singers including Kim Gun-mo and Lee Seung-hwan, and groups such as 2AM.

Expecting a larger crowd for the upcoming concert that begins at 6:30 p.m., organizers said, they will increase security personnel to keep order and prevent people from getting hurt.

The 93-day event, under the theme of “The Living Ocean and Coast,” is the first Paris-based Bureau of International Exhibitions-approved event hosted by South Korea since the 1993 Daejeon Expo.
