SEOUL -- Samsung Electronics will showcase a new Galaxy smartphone through an online showcase event in late January.

The South Korean tech giant said in a statement uploaded onto its news blog on January 4 that it will hold "Galaxy Unpacked 2021," an annual showcase event, without disclosing additional information. The event will be broadcast live through online social media platforms including YouTube on January 14.

Although Samsung did not mention the specification of the upcoming device, many tech experts predict that Galaxy S21, the company's next-generation flagship phone, will be unveiled. The company hinted at the new S21 through a teaser video released on December 29 in 2020.

According to Winfuture, an online tech expert, Samsung's new S21 phone will come in two display sizes, a 6.2-inch active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display and a 6.7-inch AMOLED display. Both phone models will be fitted with a triple-lens rear camera and a single-lens front camera. For the European market, Galaxy S21 with 128-gigabyte storage will come with a price tag of 849 Euros ($1,039).
