SEOUL -- Samsung Electronics will showcase its latest phablet "Galaxy Note 20" through an online event in August. According to online-based IT specialists, the new phone will feature a QHD 120hz low-temperature poly-silicon and oxide (LTPO) display that consumes lesser power than conventional organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays.

The smartphone maker said in a statement that the "Galaxy Unpacked" event will be held at 11:00 p.m. (1400 GMT) on August 5. This is the first time for Samsung to introduce its smartphone solely through a live-streamed showcase due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company also released a teaser video showing a liquid crown created by a droplet in the color of "Mystic Bronze," the new color theme added to the Galaxy Note 20 lineup.

The phablet phone is scheduled to hit the shelves in the global market on August 21. Samsung has another hidden card up its sleeve. Galaxy Z Flip 2, a new smartphone with a foldable display, will be released later this year.
