SEOUL -- K-pop girl band (G)I-DLE targets the global music scene with an English remake version of its hit song, LATATA. The band's world concert tour, which was to begin in April, has been postponed by a COVID-19 pandemic.

Cube Entertainment, the six-member band's agency, said that (G)I-DLE has released the English version of the band's debut song released in May 2018. LATATA is a pop-dance track written and composed by (G)I-DLE leader Jeon So-yeon.

(G)I-DLE was recognized as a solid team with superb performance and rap skills through "Queendom", a 2018 K-pop girl band music and dance competition cable TV show. In January this year, the group was voted as the Most Anticipated Singers/Groups in 2020.

Cube Entertainment signed a contract with Republic Records, an American record label, in April to make an inroad into the U.S. music market. Republic Records is in charge of (G)I-DLE's overall activities in the U.S.
