SEOUL -- Daewoo Engineering and Construction, a builder in South Korea, has teamed up with AstroX, a domestic racing drone company, to design advanced industrial and military drones and develop an integrated drone management platform that is applicable to disasters, firefighting, life searching and traffic control.

Daewoo E&C said Tuesday it would acquire a 30 percent stake in AstroX. Financial terms were not disclosed. The two companies would preempt markets for an integrated drone management platform by making package products incorporating a remote drone control system (DW-CDS).

DW-CDS (Daewoo Construction Drone Surveillance) is a video control platform developed by Daewoo E&C to support automatic flight, remote control and the management of flight information. The system is also expected to serve as a black box to record and manage all the drone's flight information history.
