SEOUL -- Kolmar Korea, a beauty and pharmaceutical company in South Korea, has released long-lasting products with high consistency that would not easily come off when wearing face masks.
The novel coronavirus epidemic has created a disturbance among female consumers as their makeup can be easily rubbed off by face masks they wear. Some consumers chose not to put on makeup or purchase products that would stay on their skin for a long time.
Kolmar said Monday that it has released four products -- sunscreen, cushion foundation, lipstick and compact also known as a powder case -- with high consistency for consumers wearing masks to prevent COVID-19 infections.
"We've developed products that reflect the inconvenience experienced by female customers who wear face masks for a long time," Kolmar said in a statement. Because the inside of a face mask is moist and oily from inhalation and facial secretions, ordinary makeups easily wear off. Kolmar used coating powder to prevent makeup from coming off.
Because people stay at home for social distancing, the cosmetics industry is seeking ways to boost sales. Some companies have produced hydrogel facial mask packs and diet products that improve the basic condition of the skin and body.
