SEOUL -- Naver, a top web portal operator in South Korea, has expanded its customer service for non-face-to-face or "untact" marketing by small and medium businesses through online shopping malls.

Both online and offline stores have been struck hard by a coronavirus epidemic, while content and food delivery services have gained popularity as many consumers stay their houses.

Naver has adopted a "Live Commerce Tool" feature for offline store operators. Sellers can promote products sold at street shops through live broadcasts and provide feedback to customers in real-time. Customers can order products via Naver's online store platform. Naver will provide teleconference and telecommuting solutions.

Over-the-top (OTT) video-on-demand (VOD) service Watcha has rolled out a special promotion to provide a three-day free subscription for first-time users of its service. The OTT company is cooperating with the government to provide a free subscription service for people who have locked themselves at homes and special facilities for self-quarantine.
