SEOUL -- K-pop girl band Red Velvet has revealed character images of each member that would appear in "Trolls World Tour," a computer-animated musical film scheduled to open in theaters worldwide on April 17.

"Red Velvet was cast as a representative for K-pop artists to voice and sing in DreamWork's animation Trolls!" the five-member band said through an official Twitter post on Monday. The band said its animated characters will play the roles of "K-POP Trolls" in Trolls World Tour to meet fans.

Trolls World Tour is a musical animation produced by American entertainment company DreamWorks Animation that is a sequel to the 2016 film "Trolls." The upcoming film depicts a story about trolls engaging in music battles. Trolls World Tour features famous artists such as Justin Timberlake, Ozzy Osbourne, and James Corden as voice actors.

Red Velvet, which debuted in 2014, has released hit songs such as "Red Flavor", "Bad Boy", "Psycho" and "Rookie". The band was applauded by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un after performing at a concert in Pyongyang ahead of an inter-Korean summit in April in 2018.
