SEOUL -- Through cooperation with British high-end audio company Meridian Audio, LG Electronics has opened a "listening lounge" for premium audio and video products at its flagship store in Gangnam, the center district for finance and fashion in southern Seoul.

The South Korean company said on Tuesday that consumers can experience premium high-end products from LG and Meridian at LG's special listening lounge carefully designed and tuned for consumers seeking high-end audio products. The lounge features LG's premium Objet audio and video systems as well as Meridian's premium hi-fi speakers.

LG has improved high-end audio capabilities to provide a differentiated experience since G5, a smartphone released in 2016, was equipped with DAC, which converts digital signals to analog ones to provide rich sound. DAC has become the key feature of LG's latest phones.

LG teamed up with Meridian Audio in December last year to create premium audio systems for TVs and home theaters. The company showcased various types of audio devices including a premium soundbar, a long brick-shaped device that houses multiple speakers, at CES 2020, an annual trade fair in Last Vegas, last week.
