SEOUL -- Singer Kang Daniel, a former member of South Korea's defunct project boy band Wanna One, will communicate with fans with video contents through social media that would provide glimpses of his life behind the stage.

KONNECT Entertainment, the singer's agency, said in a statement on Monday that Kang Daniel, 22, would open "Colorful Daniel", a YouTube channel, to share his self-made video contents on September 25.

"The video content is focused on capturing Kang Daniel's true self," KONNECT said, adding it would provide an opportunity for him to get closer to fans. Kang's new YouTube channel will release video content every Wednesday for seven weeks. The agency said Kang Daniel's videos would include interviews and behind-the-scenes footages.

Kang Daniel made his successful solo debut in July with "color on me" and its title song "What Are You Up To". The singer sold more than 400,000 copies of the album in the first week of release.
