SEOUL -- K-pop boy band BTS will promote tourism in South Korea's capital city through a series of promotions targeting foreign travellers.

The Seoul city government has released Thursday a series of videos featuring BTS members to promote tourism in the capital city. This is the third year that the seven-member band has taken the role of a tourism ambassador of Seoul.

According to Hyundai Research Institute's data, BTS has played a vital role as South Korea's cultural ambassador in 2018, boosting tourism and sales of cosmetics products. The value generated by BTS was estimated at 4.1 trillion won ($3.4 billion) annually.
