SEOUL -- K-pop boy band BTS saw its new song being certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for the second time in its career.

RIAA said through its official website and social media that BTS' digital single "Boy With Luv feat. Halsey" was certified platinum as of June 20. "MIC Drop" featuring famous DJ Steve Aoki was certified platinum in November last year.

The band has acquired the biggest number of RIAA platinum certification as a South Korean artist. Previously, BTS' digital singles -- "DNA", "FAKE LOVE", and "IDOL" -- were certified gold by RIAA. The band also had its album "LOVE YOURSELF: Answer" certified "gold multi-disc set".

RIAA certifies digital single and album sales by categorizing them into Gold (500,000 or more copies sold), Platinum (1 million or copies sold), Multi-Platinum (2 million or more copies sold) and Diamond (10 million or more copies sold) depending on the volume of digital single and album sales. Digital singles sales include digital downloads, audio and video streaming.

BTS will continue its world tour In Japan in July.
