SEOUL -- Thousands of fans have visited the Instagram page of Goo Ha-ra, a former Kara member, after she was hospitalized for attempting suicide. Police said she was not in a critical condition.
According to police, the 28-year-old was found by her manager lying unconscious at her home in southern Seoul on Sunday, just after the singer uploaded an Instagram post that said "Goodbye" and "My insides are being really messed up." The post was deleted right away.
After reading Goo's message, the manager made a quick visit to her house and found the singer was lying unconscious on the second floor full of smoke. Goo was carried to a nearby hospital and hospitalized. Police said that her breathing and pulse have returned to normal.
Shocked fans visited her Instagram page to express support. "I love you Hara, please take care of yourself and we will always be here for you and support you," said "97_tititututata", an Instagram user.
In September last year, Goo got caught up in online rumors that she was hospitalized after she had attempted suicide. Her agency issued a strong denial saying she had visited a hospital to treat her sleeping disorder and indigestion.
A few weeks later, Goo's ex-boyfriend, known by his surname Choi, accused the singer of assaulting him. She filed a lawsuit against Choi, arguing that he had beaten and blackmailed her with sex video and image files. Choi claimed the video was not secretly filmed and he did not mean to sexually harass the singer. They have been questioned by police.
