SEOUL -- Seungri, a BIGBANG member, returned home after being quizzed by police for more than eight hours in a probe to see whether he has been implicated in drug circulation and the alleged arrangement of sexual services for foreign investors.

The 28-year-old showed up at a police station in Seoul at about 9:00 p.m. (1200 GMT) Wednesday. He was sent home at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

"Many people are angry because of various controversies, but I will do my best to clear all the suspicions as soon as possible," Seungri told reporters outside the police station. Police said they collected hair and urine samples from Seungri for drug testing.

A South Korean online media reported earlier this week that the singer is suspected of having been involved in escort services for foreign investors in Yuri Holdings in late 2015. The company was co-founded by Seungri for investment in restaurant and entertainment businesses.

The media outlet revealed an edited log from a smartphone messenger dialogue between four people including Seungri, an anonymous singer, an investment company CEO and a company employee. The log showed Seungri giving orders to other people to prepare women for two Taiwanese men who were to visit a club in southern Seoul.

The report came on the heels of an investigation into alleged drug use, sexual assault and violence at Burning Sun, a music and dance club associated with Seungri. The club caught public attention last month when a 28-year-old man claimed that he was beaten by Burning Sun employees. Seungri apologized and resigned from management of the club.
