SEOUL -- Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S10 will probably have a punch hole-style selfie camera at the top of its display to avoid the "notch design" adopted by Apple, according to an American blogger famous for smartphone leaks.

Evan Blass, who gained notoriety for his Twitter leaks about unreleased smartphones, tipped tech-savvy online users that Samsung's next flagship smartphone could feature a "Punch Hole" style selfie camera, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, three rear cameras and the latest Android operating system.

Currently, many smartphones feature the notch design, which has an island on the top edge of a smartphone to house a speaker, selfie camera and sensors while using the rest of the front screen as its display area. Apple became the icon of the notch design when it released iPhone X in September 2017.

Many tech-savvy fans have criticized the notch design. Samsung has also mocked it in a series of promotional YouTube and advertising videos. No smartphone makers have yet to release a smartphone with a camera hole which provides a wider display compared to the notch display.
