SEOUL -- A woman was wanted by police for scattering hundreds of 50,000 won ($43) bills here and there while driving a black premium sedan in the streets of the southeastern city of Daegu during a morning rush hour Thursday.
On tips from pedestrians that a woman was scattering large-denominated bills in a downtown area in Daegu, some 238 kilometers (147 miles) southeast of Seoul, police found the streets, full of commuting cars, were in chaos as drivers abandoned their cars to pick up notes flying around, according to Yonhap News.
"A woman held her hand out of a car window and scattered bills onto the streets," a witness was quoted as saying.
Many people were eager to pick up the bills and hand them over to the officers, Yonhap said, adding a similar situation took place in 11 spots, sending police moving around to collect about 15.8 million won worth of bills. Police launched an investigation to identify the woman.
