SEOUL -- South Korea's top mobile carrier, SK Telecom, unveiled NUGU Candle, a bedroom device that combined its artificial intelligence (AI) voice assistant platform with light-emitting diode (LED) lighting.
The company said Wednesday in a statement that NUGU Candle emits 17 colors of light and provides optimized lighting for specific uses such as breastfeeding, sleeping and reading.
It features a lighting effect called "Sunrise Morning Call" for a healthy sleep. The sunrise wake-up call illuminates the light gradually about 30 minutes before the designated alarm time. When the set time is reached, the sound of natural birds with full illumination induces a natural wake-up.
NUGU Candle in cylindrical form is 16.8 centimeters tall. The price was set at 149,000 won ($133). The NUGU AI assistant platform has been used for AI speakers and smartphone apps.
