BTS reaches top 10 on Billboard Hot 100 first time as K-pop group

SEOUL -- Boy band BTS set a new milestone in the international music industry, becoming the first K-pop group to enter the top 10 on Billboard Hot 100 chart with its latest hit song "FAKE LOVE".

On Wednesday, "FAKE LOVE" stood No. 10 in the weekly chart ranking top 100 popular songs for the first week of June. BTS had previously hit the 28th spot in December with "MIC Drop". The group also took its first crown in Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart with its new hit song with.

Before BTS, Psy held the record as the highest ranking K-pop artist with his global hit "Gangnam Style", which peaked at No.2 for seven weeks in 2012. The global music community was engulfed in BTS fever after the group's new album took the top place in Billboard 200 on Monday.

"I think BTS can get an award at the Grammy's," Tanx, a South Korean member of the group's fan club ARMY, said in a post. A British fan nicknamed "jiminbub" wrote: "they’re achieving goals, breaking records left, right and center and I’m livinggg."
