SEOUL -- South Korea's top cosmetics maker, AmorePacific, has released an artificial intelligence-based simulation feature for Samsung's new flagship smartphone, Galaxy S9, to help customers try new makeup products without visiting offline stores.

AmorePacific said the new feature has been added to Samsung's AI platform Bixby Vision, providing Galaxy S9 users with a virtual powder room and makeup simulation services.

"We have collaborated with Samsung to effectively promote our new products to domestic and international customers," an AmorePacific official said in a statement, adding the cosmetics firm would diversify its business area through digital innovation.

AmorePacific said its AI feature will recognize the face of users and propose a lineup of virtual cosmetics products such as lipsticks, blushes and eyeshadows. Users can try the products at the virtual power room and buy them at an online shopping mall.
