SEOUL, Feb. 07 (Aju News) -- Golf is a popular sports game in South Korea, but during the high season that usually starts in late April, it's very difficult to make reservations at any golf courses near Seoul because of what has been dubbed a "booking war" among millions of enthusiastic golfers.

To save their trouble, Kakao Games, the game developing arm of South Korea's second-largest web service provider Kakao promised to unveil an efficient golf booking service using conversational artificial intelligence to provide optimal customized information ranging from reservation and payment to transport.

Kakao Games said Wednesday that its subsidiary, Kakao VX, is developing a chabot booking service that would enable easier access to booking information and other frequently asked questions. Customers can talk to a chatbot through KakaoTalk, the country's top mobile messenger KakaoTalk, and the booking service will be connected to Kakao's mobile payment and other services.

In October last year, Kakao Games acquired a supplier of golf simulators and sensors known for its brand "T-up Vision", vowing to develop a new AI-based sports game platform for virtual and augmented reality services. T-up Vision has already adopted an AI-based voice recognition system.

Other AI-based new platforms to be released by Kakao VX include a home training service. The company also hopes to develop a home education program for children by connecting its virtual and augmented reality services to next-generation home devices.
