In an effort to move further up the ladder in the competitive auto industry, Hyundai Motor unveiled a glimpse at the new "Veloster", a hot hatchback which would be added to a lineup of high-performance cars.
A set of images revealed by Hyundai through its news blog showed the new Veloster wrapped up in camouflage. The company said the hatchback with unique design went through a lot of changes to add dynamic driving, a perfect balance and a sporty look.
The original Veloster, introduced in 2011, received attention for its unique four-door hatchback design with the rear door on its right side missing. It was fitted with a 1.6 GDI gasoline engine but Hyundai released a 1.6 Turbo GDI engine version later.
Hyundai said the new Veloster with a rally car concept is "fun to drive". It comes in two variants -- a 1.4 turbo gasoline engine and 1.6 gamma turbo gasoline engine -- to provide a driving experience with a punch.
The world's fifth-largest carmaker has focused on high-performance cars as well as its best-selling lineup of sedans and SUVs. G70, a mid-sized high-performance sedan, bears the company's luxurious premium brand Genesis, and i30N, a pumped-up version of i30, attracts car manias interested in high-performance vehicles.
