A one-third of salarymen in South Korea used grooming products regularly, spending an average 220 US dollars on their appearance every month, a survey showed.

In a survey of 669 salarymen, Job Korea, a leading job board in South Korea, found that 35 percent spent time and money on daily grooming, more than others. Grooming was popular among men in their 20s with 42.7 percent.

The survey found money spent on grooming stood at 248,000 won ($220) every month. Helped by the growing popularity of makeup among men, cosmetics shops have seen a steady rise in sales of makeup items include concealer, eyeliner and lip gloss.

South Korea's male beauty market exceeds one trillion won. E-commerce firm Coupang has opened a new store focused on grooming products for men, offers products including shaving, skin care, fragrance and hair products as well as supplements for weight loss and protein.
