"My Time", the song for the new Disney Channel animated series Elena of Avalor, has been sung by Wendy of South Korea's five-member girl group Red Velvet, according to her management agency.

Last week, SM Entertainment released a video through its YouTube channel that showed Wendy recording the song for the Disney series to be released in March.

Set in the enchanted fairy tale land of Avalor, the series tells the story of Elena, a brave and adventurous teenager who has saved her kingdom from an evil sorceress and must now learn to rule as a crown princess until she is old enough to be queen.

The stories incorporate influences from diverse Latin and Hispanic cultures through architecture, traditions, food and customs. Magic, mythology, folklore and music also play an important role, with each episode featuring original songs spanning an array of Latin musical styles including Mariachi, Latin Pop, Salsa, Banda and Chilean Hip Hop.

Red Velvet's new mini-album "Rookie: The 4th Mini Album" topped the Billboard's World Album Chart for the first week of February and topped all South Korean major music charts on its release day.
