Millions of fans have watched a final track released by South Korea's iconic girl group 2NE1 to mark the group's unexpected dissolution.

The special track "Goodbye" was released on Saturday, officially ending the group's activities. Over 5.8 million fans visited the group's YouTube page and about 91,500 comments were left by fans who wanted to show gratitude and share memories of the girls.

The South Korean music scene was shaken last November when the girls' agency, YG Entertainment, announced 2NE1's sudden dissolution. Many fans had been left with an unfinished feeling as the girls did not formally say goodbye. Now, they are accepting it with a solemn mood on YouTube.

YG head Yang Hyun-suk last week did not rule the possibility of 2NE1's reunification in the distant future and said, "We never know what's going to happen in the future. Like S.E.S, the day could come when 2NE1 reunites once again." S.E.S, one of the first generation girl groups, came back in early January with the first album in 14 years.
