A baby name tracking site BabyCenter spotted an increase in parents naming their newborns after Pokémons, The Telegraph reported.

With its release in early July, the mobile game "Pokémon Go" has brought a lot of fun into the world. Not only the people are in the hype of the game itself, some parents are actually naming their children after monsters from Pokémon.

Babycenter spotted girls being named after "Eevee", a cute and furry monster from Pokémon, increased by 1,377 spots this year. Also, numbers of girls named after "Onyx", a giant snake made of rocks, spiked by 2,184 spots.

But since the parents are needed to enter the names of their children to receive information and childcare tips provided by the website, it is also very likely for them to type in baby nicknames instead of the children's' real names.
