Three Olympic wild cards for South Korean football squad

South Korea announced an 18-member Olympic football squad Monday along with three wild cards including Tottenham Hotspurs attacker Son Heung-min.

The other wild cards are FC Porto forward Suk Hyun-jun, 25, and Guangzhou R&F defender Jang Hyun-soo, 24. Son turns 24 on July 8.

Players under the age of 23 compete in the Rio Olympics. Each country can have up to three overage players as "wild cards". South Korea were paired with Germany, Mexico and Fiji in Group C.

South Korea will leave for Sao Paulo on July 18 to set up their camp. They will face Iraq on July 25 and Sweden five days later.

Defenders: Choi Kyu-baek (Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors), Jang Hyun-soo (Guangzhou R&F), Jung Seung-hyun (Ulsan Hyundai FC), Lee Seul-chan (Jeonnam Dragons), Park Dong-jin (Gwangju FC), Sim Sang-min (FC Seoul), Song Ju-hun (Mito Hollyhock)

Midfielders: Kwon Chang-hoon (Suwon Samsung Bluewings), Lee Chang-min (Jeju United), Lee Chan-dong (Gwangju FC), Moon Chang-jin (Pohang Steelers), Park Yong-woo (FC Seoul), *Ryu Seung-woo (Arminia Bielefeld)

Forwards: Hwan Hee-chan (FC Red Bull Salzburg), Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspurs), Suk Hyun-jun (FC Porto)
