YG Entertainment is to unveil a new girl group in July. Although the largest entertainment agency in Korea has not yet revealed any information on the group, the agency announced Monday that they are to release information on a weekly basis starting this week, a member at a time.

The new girl is produced by Teddy, the agency told Aju News. Teddy is a former member of 1TYM and the main producer of the agency. "Teddy is producing the debut track," said the YG official, "We are to announce the names and details of each member on a weekly basis once we get the dates fixed."

Yang Hyun-suk, the president of YG Entertainment, said in a statement, "The girls were in training for a while, in a military fashion. Their talents are proven."

Fans' expectations on YG's new girl group are rising since Minji, a former member of 2NE1, disbanded from the group earlier this year, leaving the group inactive for the moment. Many eyes are focusing on the new group in the question of whether they will carry on the reputation built by their predecessors.

However, the president said that the new girl group will not follow a similar path or would be in a similar concept to 2NE1. "The girls won't feel as if they are the second 2NE1 because they are different," Yang said, "We are little pressured as this group is our first girl group in seven years, but we are confident."
