Legendary artist Prince found dead at home

Prince, a revolutionary artist who explored the world of funk, rock, and pop over 39 albums, was found dead at his home on Thursday.

The 57-year old artist was fighting flu and his plane was reportedly forced to make an emergency landing in Illinois on Friday due to Illness. He was found dead at his home in Minnesota, the Carver County Sheriff's Office has confirmed, but the exact cause of death is not yet known.

Loved by the fans around the world, the artist was the pop icon who pushed the conversation forward with his work, which challenged gender norms and tackling sexual stereotypes. Prince became known to the world with a film "Purple Rain" and its soundtrack "When Doves Cry", which is regarded as one of the best of his albums. He won two Grammys in 1985 with Purple Rain.

The artist built up his fame with astonishing performances filled with unfiltered sexual messages and strong visual experiences. He was considered as the icon of 80's pop scene along with Michael Jackson and Madonna.

Prince was also a talented multi-instrumentalist. He could play over 30 musical instruments and the most of them like a pro. The artist was legendary with a guitar. British Rock musician, Jeff Beck, known as one of the best guitarists on earth, praised the artist for his flawless guitar skills.

But he was also the target of prejudice. His image as a rock star who performs explosive performances and lyrics filled with strong sexual messages left him undervalued.

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and one two more Grammys with an album "Musicology" in the same year.
