In China, being skinny is considered the key to being beautiful, and the ladies are very eager to prove themselves online. Using 100 yuan (approximately US$15) banknotes, an A4 sized sheet of paper and an iPhone6 to measure their body parts are hot trends in the Chinese online world.

This latest-in-trend challenge requires a 100 yuan banknote. 155mm by 77mm, the challenger must wrap the banknote around her wrist and if there's no gap showing between the ends, then the challenger is considered to be skinny.

The iPhone6 challenge was in trend over Weibo, the Chinese counterpart of Facebook, during March. The challenger must hold up an iPhone6 to her knees, and if the smartphone covers both knees, the challenge is successfully carried out. The challenger would be praised for having beautiful legs and for being skinny.

This challenge is rather simple. The challenger must hold a sheet of A4 in front of her waist, and if the A4 covers her waist completely, then she is considered skinny enough. This challenge, which started in February, brought a lot of mockery from the public. Some posted pictures of them holding up a sheet of A4 up to their faces and other body parts.

Although the trends in body challenges in China are very interesting, some people fear that these social trends may set in, and create a discrimination against over-weighted people.
