A photograph of a little boy wearing a plastic bag with blue and white stripes, which resembles Lionel Messi’s football shirt hit the social network in January. The football star himself came across the photograph and the boy is very likely to meet his idol in person.

The boy was soon identified as five-year-old Murtaza Ahmadi from Afghanistan. The Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) confirmed on its website that the federation has contacted with Lionel Messi, the world football star, and it will soon arrange Messi’s meeting with Murtaza.

It is his both sad and heartwarming story which overwhelmed people worldwide. The boy’s father Arif Ahmedi, could not buy a real Messi jersey for his son, so the boy’s brother fashioned one out of a plastic bag and a marker.

Although the AFF had confirmed the meeting will take place, but when or where the meeting will be held is not known.

Lionel Andres “Leo” Messi is an Argentine professional football player who plays for Spanish club Barcelona and Argentina national team. He is often considered the best football player in the world. He is the first player to win the FIFA Ballon d’or five times.
