Facebook launched its first ever live video streaming service for iOS users living in America. Although the service is yet limited to iPhone and its iPad users, the company promised to expand its services to all devices and in all regions.

The company began beta-test of the live streaming feature last December, but it was limited to people who were using the company’s app for celebrities and public figures. Facebook had put it a lot of efforts last year to pump up its ability to its streaming service to have it available for everyone.

Facebook had recently announced that its worldwide users are uploading 3 billion videos daily. The number is likely to increase- possibly double when the company bring the streaming service for all.

With the live streaming service update, Facebook users can broadcast whatever they are filming with their smart devices. Once broadcasting is over, the user can decide whether to have the video saved in his or her account or discard it.

The update also features a service which notifies users each time when their friend or a person and page they subscribe to is broadcasting live.

There are many live video streaming service providers online. YouTube is one of them. YouTube provides its users with statistics of the live streaming, letting its users know how many, when, and from where people have connected to the service.

Live video streaming is widely used in broadcasting outdoor events such as concerts and sports exhibition, also, it is broadly used in broadcasting sporting events by small and medium sized media.
