Hyundai Motor Group, which successfully launched its luxury brand “Genesis” and the flagship model “EQ900” earlier this month, announced it plans for a luxury lineup of diesel fueled cars on Monday.

Kwak Jin, the Vice President of Hyundai Motor Group, attended an event “Maeum Dream”, a talk concert with its customers and announced the company’s plans. “Limousine version of EQ900 is scheduled to be released in February 2016.” The VP said. “Also, at the latter half of next year, a diesel version of Genesis will be released. Its fuel efficiency will be 50 percent better than the petrol fueled brother model.”

According to the VP, three models of Genesis luxury sedans are to be released by the year 2017. By 2020, luxury SUV lineup will be added making a total of 6 lineups of models.

1,512 people applied to attend the event, and among the a hundred were selected. Some of them were from an online community “Bobae Dream”, which had large numbers of car enthusiasts who criticized the Korean car company for various reasons.

Instead of avoiding conflicts, Hyundai made a bold move to talk and come to an understanding with the so-called anti-fans. The event brought positive opinions from the online community.
