First Korean film created by women to be screened next month

Debut film of Hong Eun-won, the first female screenwriter and the second female director in Korean film history, is to be re-screened at “Women in Film Korea 2015 Festival” December 7.

The “Lady Judge” (여판사: 1962), Hong’s film will be among 94 films which are selected by Korean Federation of Film Archives. The selected films are produced between the 1940s and 1980s. The federation seeks to re-illuminate Director Hong’s work and to think about her influence in Korean film industry.

Women in Film Korea Festival which meets its 16th year, will award film related film creators with “Female film creator of the year” award and also hold “Night of female film creator”, an event where young and old female film creators meet.

Women in Film Korea 2015 Festival will be held at “Art Nine”, Isu Station, on December 7.
