Raspberry Pi announces $5 computer

Raspberry Pi Foundation announced its new model of computer chipset “Raspberry Pi Zero” Thursday, and the amazing part is – it’s just five dollars or consumers can get it for free if December issue of the “MagPi” is bought. MagPi is a Raspberry Pi related monthly magazine published in the UK.

Raspberry Pi is a series of single sized board computers which is a size of a credit card. Its aim is to teach basic computer science in developing countries and schools. Online Forums related to Raspberry Pi are very active and has many fans worldwide.

Although it was designed and manufactured for people in need of education of basic computing, Raspberry Pi can be used in daily use by programming it. The chipset features a CPU / GPU, USB hubs, Ethernet adapter and connection to a power source.

The latest model of Raspberry Pi, the Zero model features A 1GHz ARM11 core, 512MB of LPDDR2 SDRAM, a micro SD card slot, a mini HDMI socket for video output, micro USB sockets for power and data in /output and headers. Its size is 65mm x 30mm x 5mm.

According to the Raspberry Pi Foundation, There are already thousands of units produced, and it will be available in offline stores in U.S. and UK also online sales are available.
