Samsung Electronics’ “Gear VR” became the hard-to-get item online. In less than a week of its release, Gear VR is out of stock in Amazon.com as well as other online stores like Best Buy.
The Virtual Reality (VR) headset is the improved version of “Gear VR Innovator Edition” which was released last year. The new version of Gear VR was released last week.
Although it’s still available on Samsung’s global site, Consumers will have to wait for at least 7 business days to get the headset, which is a liability compared to other online shopping malls which provide an average of 2~3 days on delivery.
An IT specialist group "TechCrunch" reached out to Samsung to hear about the craze, Samsung said, “We are delighted with the overwhelmingly positive response Gear VR has received from reviewers and eager buyers alike. We are working hard to fulfill all orders as quickly as possible.”
