New Genesis G80 challenges ‘The Green Hell’

Hyundai Motor Group’s new Genesis brand model ‘G80’’ finished its trial run in Germany’s Nürburgring Ring. Also known as the “Green Hell”.

According to a report by Hyundai Motor Group’s fan blog “HYUNDAI-BLOG.com”, Hyundai Motor Group recently tested ‘G80’, a facelift model of the current Genesis G80, had been tested at the Nürburgring Ring.

HYUNDAI-BLOG.com predicted that there is a good chance of 3.3L twin-turbo V6 seen in the test model of Genesis Coupe equipped instead of the previous 5.0L V8 engine. Also, the blog expected that the interior will be fitted with better materials ensuring the driver and passengers’ safety.

According to the official Hyundai Motor Group’s blog, the Green Hell is one of the favorite testing places of Hyundai. The Green Hell, which features 173 corners, high – speed straight lane and steep up hills / down hills, is the final testing speedway for most of the commercial cars now days. Because of its harsh environment, it is a perfect place to run a stress test.

The EQ900, also a new model to be released in the Genesis brand, also attacked the infamous Nürburgring Ring to test its limits last April. Equipped with Hyundai’s all-wheel drive system, “HTRAC”, Hyundai’s EQ900 development team was given a mission. To maintain comfortness while providing the driver sheer joy of driving.

The test carried on for 28 days. Daniel Hereguts, who had driven more than 13,000 laps in the Green Hell, as a test driver, Hyundai eventually came up with a perfect match of EQ900’s chassis. Hyundai wrote in their blog, “We had to change sets of stabilizers, bushes and shock absorbers to come out with a perfect match.”

According to Hyundai, EQ900’s at its final stages of preparation and tuning getting ready for its launching in 2016.The release date of G80 is not known.
